MAN PROPOSES GOD DISPOSES !! 

                                             All my female  readers here  would agree that once you are out of your cocoon YOU  get proposed by ALL SORTS OF MUGS...There have been an architect , doctor , C.A.,Engineer  , guys from Armed forces , jeweler ,  executives , Businessman  , scientist , Artist , I.A.S  --  you name it and they were there!!

But like they say --'Man proposes God disposes' .

You don't always have to be a beauty to strike the fancy of  a  guy.How,when,why Cupid strikes that God alone can answer .

Love is a strange thing ,it has done insane things to most sensible people.Once it strikes a respondent chord in ones heart that person loses ones head.

     Now once  there was this nice , good looking , well qualified Kashmiri Doctor who happen to cross paths with me in an Exhibition where I was working .The cupid struck him and lo and behold he got crazy and just would not see sense. He would bring cards , letters ,flowers ,chocolates in the exhibition to my embarrassment . When the exhibition closed and he failed to get the address , he started sending love filled epistles and cards to the radio station where I was working as a casual Artist.Now here one of his cards and a letter fell into the hands of a senior ,very talented artist with whom I was presenting a youth programme on AIR and lo and behold impromptu words flew from his pen and this beautiful  ghazal - WO-KHAT  was born and since we were in the studio he  adorned it  with music as well :

           

                                      WOH KHAT 

                               Mere Mehboob , mei'n wo khat nahi'n ban na chahta .  
                              Wo jo khat pyar mei'n likha tha kiseene tujhko ,
                              Teri ankho'n se kabhi uthi thi palko'n ki naqab
                              Wo tarasta hi raha ek tabassum ke liye , 
                              Aaj tak jisne nahi'n paya tumse koi jawab ,
                              Aise aashiq   ki mei'n turbat nahin ban na chahta
                              Mere meboob mei'n wo khat nahi 'n ban na chahta.

                             
                              Naam sunkar kabhi ankho'n mei'n bhar aaye aansu
                             Jiski naqami pe  sab gham ke ye  mare royei'n ..
                             Aasmaa'n siske , zami'n khud hi tadpane lag jaye ,
                             Yaad kar ke jise - ye chand sitare royei'n ,
                             Aisi ujadi hui ulfat nahi'n ban na chahta
                             Mere mehboob mei'n wo khat nahi'n ban na chahta.   
       

                           Mere seene mei'n bhi ek dil hi dhadkta hai sanam ,
                           Kaat ta hai jo har ek pal tujhe sajda karke ,
                          Ye mere geet , mere khwab khareedenge kabhi ,
                           Daad denge mujhe aur tumse hi juda karke
                           Aisi duniya ki mei'n izzat nahi'n ban na chahta

                                                  वो खत    
                              मेरे  मेहबूब  , मैं  वो  खत नहीं  बनना  चाहता  . 
                              वो  जो  खत  प्यार  में   लिखा  था   किसीने  तुझको  ,
                              तेरी  आँखों  से  कभी  उठी   थी  पलकों  की  नक़ाब
                              वो  तरसता  ही  रहा  एक  तबस्सुम  के  लिए  ,
                              आज  तक  जिसने  नहीं  पाया  तुमसे  कोई  जवाब 
                              ऐसे  आशिक़  की मैं  तुर्बत  नहीं  बनना   चाहता
                              मेरे  मेहबूब  मैं  वो  खत  नहीं   बनना  चाहता ..
                       
                              नाम  सुनकर  कभी  आँखों  मे भर  आये  आंसू
                             जिसकी  नाकामी  पे  सब  ग़म  के  ये   मारे  रोयें  ..
                             आसमान  सिसके  , ज़मीं  खुद  ही  तड़पने  लग  जाये  ,
                             याद  कर  के  जिसे  - ये  चाँद  सितारे  रोयें  ,
                             ऐसी  उजड़ी  हुई  उल्फत  नहीं बनना  चाहता
                             मेरे  मेहबूब  मैं  वो  खत  नहीं   बनना  चाहता ..

                            मेरे  सीने   में भी  एक  दिल  ही  धड़कता  है  सनम  ,
                            काटता  है  जो  हर  एक  पल  तुझे  सजदा  करके  ,
                            ये  मेरे  गीत  , मेरे  ख्वाब  खरीदेंगे  कभी  ,
                            दाद  देंगे  मुझे  और  तुमसे  ही  जुदा  करके
                            ऐसी  दुनिया  की  मैं   इज़्ज़त  नहीं   बनना  चाहता
                            मेरे  मेहबूब  मैं  वो  खत  नहीं   बनना  चाहता ...
